Volunteers are readily needed all year! You’re not required to commit for the entire year — just help out when you can! An hour here and there can make a huge difference!
Please understand, we’d love for you to contact us if you want to get involved! Phoning to ask parents to volunteer for events/activities will be a last resort!!! Believe me, no one wants to make those calls! It’s time consuming and ineffective. We’re going pro-active on this one! We’ll post what’s happening, jump in when and where you can!!!
We’ll list a few big places where we need help below. Most times, you’ll simply see a HELP WANTED post added to the Morning Announcements since opportunities come up quickly. Keep an eye on this page, but more importantly…just watch the blog posts. If you’re a subscriber, you’re good to go! If you see a post and can help – just click the link to email us!

GINGERBREAD HOUSES -
All of the primary classes and 5 intermediate classes will be making Gingerbread Houses during the last week of school before the holiday break (Dec. 17-21st).
In the past, the PAC has purchased some of the supplies (icing, grahams, etc).
This year, we thought we’d put it out to our Parent Network first on the hope that someone may know someone who could dontate some of the supplies or be a sponsor instead! (And it helps free up our PAC funds to put towards fieldtrips or wish list items instead).
Huge thanks to Ms. Sveinson who has put together a supply list on behalf of all the classes. Take a look at the list below and think about who you know who could donate the needed supplies…or even a portion of the supplies…or simply a cash donation as a “Gingerbread House sponsor“. Email Heidi at cambridgepacyac@shaw.ca and let us know what you’re able to provide!
Please let us know asap since we’ll need to secure the Graham Crackers quickly…they’re already sold out at several stores!
Gingerbread Supplies Needed:
Royal Icing – 25 buckets
Honey Maid Graham Crackers – 48 boxes
Paper Plates – 560
Ice Cream Cones (triangle ones…they will be trees) – 60
NOTE - not all divisions will be participating in this project. And that’s okay. Friendly reminder that our role as parents/PAC is to support what the teachers and school plan for the students. Rest assured that decisions on projects like this are made with a lot of thought and consideration. If your child’s class isn’t on the list, we ask that you trust there’s a good reason why. If you’re still concerned, you know you are always welcome to discuss it with your child’s teacher or with Mr. Winton.

Help Wanted – Gingerbread House Assembly - We’ll need 560 houses assembled using hot sugar “glue”. We’ll keep you posted once we know when the assembly will be taking place.

HOT LUNCH DISTRIBUTION – Every Wednesday -11:45 am – 12:10 pm
We’ll help package the hot lunch orders into bags for each class and run food to the classrooms. Email cambridgepacyac@shaw.ca if you can help for a Wednesday here and there or every week!
