Hot Lunch

Hot lunch is available each week through The Lunch Lady www.thelunchlady.ca

The Lunch Lady was chosen after careful consideration of several companies.  They were best able to meet our school’s size demands and they offer a healthy and nut-free option.  Here’s a bit more information on The Lunch Lady from their website:

The Lunch Lady meets provincial nutrition guidelines for healthy schools. You can count on us to offer healthy choices with more whole grains, veggies and fruits, and less fat, sugar and salt. The Lunch Lady works with suppliers, Regional Boards of Health, parents and kids to design menus that will appeal to children and provide them with the food energy they need to support a great afternoon of learning at school.

A back to school notice will be sent home with students in September that will detail the program and start dates.

Our PAC receives a set amount of money for each lunch ordered.  The PAC has received about $200-$250 each month in profit from the program.

LUNCH LADY FEEDBACK!   Ifyou have any feedback about the program, please let them know by calling or emailing.  Contact info can be found on their website.  They’re always trying to improve, so any feedback is very much appreciated!

HOT LUNCH VOLUNTEERS – if you are able to help out from 11:45 – 12 on Hot Lunch Wednesdays, please email cambridgepacyac@shaw.ca .  We need parents to help package the lunches and deliver to the classrooms.

WHERE ARE THE HOT DOGS???

We understand that there’s still a desire for the good ol’ fashion hot dog days!  We want to make that happen so we’ll be adding more BBQ type events to our Community Calendar this year!

The Lunch Lady has also sourced a hot dog that meets the strict healthy eating guidelines and will be offering special Hot Dog Days in addition to our regular Wednesday lunch schedule.

We’re also looking into other retro/fun options that we can add to the calendar to keep it fun for the kids while meeting the nutritional guidelines set out by the province.

I love not making a lunch on Tuesday nights, and knowing my children are eating a healthy lunch on Wednesdays!! I’m glad not hot dogs, McDonald’s, pizza, etc…
